Meet the Beacon: Anna Nash
Q: What does being a Beacon mean to you?
A: To me, the best word is to be an encouragement. I know that God made me a woman that really sees beauty, potential and how everyone is so uniquely made for God's purposes. It’s my highest joy to be able to use that gift to call that out of them and to be able to say God made you for this. It’s my hope that when someone leaves a conversation with me, they feel lighter.
Q: What is something people don’t know about you?
A: I don't think people would believe how insecure I am. I think people look at me up front teaching, speaking or writing and they think I might have it all together. I think I present confidently but I run to God for security every morning. I just pray about where I'm feeling insecure and get grounded in the truth of who He says I am. I don't want anybody to ever look at me and think I’ve got it all together, but I know the One who does, and I hang out with Him often.
Q: What is a phrase that defines you?
A: This was a quote I heard when we started the coffee shop, Innova, and I just think it's so powerful. It's “just do what you can with what you have where you are.” I think a lot of us hold back from living fully because we think we don't have what it takes, but everybody's got something.
Q: “If you know [ ], you know me.” What’s that for you?
A: I'm very impacted by Ben rector's music. One of them is called “Sailboat” and it's talking about a sailboat that's out on the waves being tossed. It’s about how life just twists and turns but to stay the course. That’s who I am.
Q: What’s one thing that you're really looking forward to?
A: I'm really looking forward to writing a book with Tyler on hospitality. It's about gathering people and making them feel seen, known and loved. My heart beats for hospitality and just giving people a place to feel like they belong.
