Hey y’all and Merry Christmas!
As we embrace the warmth and joy of the Christmas season, I would like to reflect on the profound link between Christmas and our God given purpose on Earth, the focus of our organization of Beacon People, as highlighted in 1st Peter 2:9 from the New Living Translation:
"But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."
This verse beautifully illustrates how we are chosen and set apart by God to reflect His glory in the world. And our understanding of this purpose is deeply rooted in the essence of Christmas – the birth of Jesus Christ.
The way that He has called you out of darkness into His wonderful light is through Jesus, His Son.
Titus 3:5 emphasizes this profound truth:
"He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit."
This verse highlights the incredible grace always given to us through Jesus' birth and sacrifice, offering us redemption and a new life, enabling us to comprehend our purpose on Earth as a child of God.
The coming of Jesus to the world signifies a pivotal moment in comprehending our purpose.
Hebrews 1:3 beautifully portrays Jesus like this:
"The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven."
This passage further emphasizes that without Him, our grasp and fulfillment of our purpose would remain uncertain.
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross paved the way for us to be righteous, granting us access to God and unveiling the reason for our existence. In studying the life of Jesus, we uncover a blueprint for our purpose. His teachings, compassion, forgiveness, and grace serve as guiding principles. Emulating His character leads us toward fulfilling our God-given purpose.
At Christmas, we see how God's love is at the heart of everything displayed through Jesus' life and sacrifice. Our heartfelt prayer for you this Christmas is to embrace this connection, find gratitude within it, and be inspired to live a life worthy of the purpose for which God has called us.
Even in the toughest times, this Christmas, remember that we can still celebrate and cherish these incredible gifts from God. May the joy and significance of this season fill your heart. Merry Christmas, and may you bask in the radiance of your God-given purpose.
