A Creative Harvest - Nurturing Inspiration in Autumn
Hello Beacons!
Amy Anderson here to give you a few updates for Fall. We are so glad to be hosting a market this season, and trust me when I say that we can already see God's hand at work in all the planning and details. It's going to be a wonderful day of community support and using our creative gifts to enrich the lives of others.
3 Things to know about our creative division:
A New Podcast Series!
We launched "Conversations with Creatives" this month and there is so much excitement around these conversations. I joined our podcast host, Marnie Clark, to be the first guest kicking off this series. My focus is on what I now call, 'every day creativity'. I truly believe that how you show up in your life, how you plan your day or speak to others, how you keep your home, and all these other every day tasks are fantastic expressions of our creative spirits. I've seen through teaching art classes that art actually is for everyone, and God's gift of creativity shows up differently for everyone, too. That is the fun of it!

2. (205) Maker's Market
We are now taking signups for this beautifully timed market, which is during Homewood's Open House for the Holidays. It is our prayer that our vendors will have lots of opportunities for networking, feedback, and sales. This event will feature live music, authors, makers, and even a book signing by Ashley Mac. Definitely plan to come by, introduce yourself, and browse our market!
More information and the vendor application can be found HERE.

(205) Maker's Market
Thursday, November 2, 2023
11:00am - 6:00pm
Located in Soho Square, Ashley Mac's Homewood restaurant on the patio.
3. Maker's Mingle
Directly following our monthly "Coffee & Connection" in October, we will plan to meet at Ashley Mac's Homewood location for lunch and a Maker's Mingle! This will allow our vendors to meet each other, see the space, ask questions, and receive encouragement. Not a vendor? You are still welcome to come join us for lunch! Plan for 12:30pm on Friday, October 20th.
Encouragement in closing...
There is no set standard to how creatives spend their imaginative time. The ideas are many and the hours are often short. The "no set schedule" at times can be freeing, or we can feel chaotic or tense that we are falling behind our own expectations. Let us set our intention on just doing what we can. We don't have to compete with anyone else, or get trapped in comparison. We can be free in the truth that all paths are unique, our purpose comes from God, our Creator, and He is the planner of this and every season.
Sincerely,
