You're Invited to a Private Birthday Celebration With Jesus
We are within hours of the dawn of Christmas invited into the nativity story watch twinkling lights, see the manger displayed and sing Christmas carols. This week I was curious about what the word “nativity” actually meant. Nativity means “the occasion of a person’s birth.” We each have our own nativity story. The details and the setting of your birth hopefully have been recounted to you by the previous generation. This thought of your own nativity is also such beautiful imagery of your second birth as you are welcomed into God’s forever family when you put our trust in Him. Be reminded of your personal spiritual nativity. What were the events surrounding the time that you believed and surrendered your life to God? A warm and welcoming invitation to be born into the family of God must have been good news. THIS is the same news that caused the shepherds to tenderly bow down, the angels to proclaim glory and the Kings to joyfully worship. They were convinced Jesus was the promised Messiah that had come to Earth. This was the good news for which they had been longing. But something tells me that they had no idea how good this news really was! They couldn’t begin to comprehend how life would dramatically change for all who believe because of the events that would unfold just 33 years later. Jesus would forever take away the sting of death and make a way for His people to be forgiven of past, present and future sins through His death and resurrection. I think we are a lot like the characters in the Christmas story. We have no idea, really not even a slight understanding, of the magnificent love the Father has for us. Jesus is the greatest imprint of the heart of God for us.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
Our prayer is that you will find deeper meaning in the good news that Jesus' birth proclaims again this Christmas. When we feel the warmth of Jesus shining in our hearts the beautiful outcome is that our own flame burns brighter in a world that needs hope, joy and peace. You are a beacon of light when you receive God’s love over and over again.
If you’d like some peaceful, personal time to celebrate Jesus’ birth with Him HERE is a blog and/or podcast episode that prayerfully will give you those welcomed few moments with Him.
Merry Christmas from Beacon People,
